Ghanaian actress and producer, Zynnell Zuh, has announced that her self-produced romantic comedy, When Love Comes Around, is set to hit Nigerian cinemas on July 31, 2015. The movie had previously premiered in Ghana in December of 2014.
Directed by Afe Olumowe, When Love Comes Around follows the story of a young lady who is scared of being heartbroken. She decides to secure only wealthy men for financial gain; but then love comes around.
The film stars Jim Iyke, Zynnell Zuh, Mikki Osei Berko, Edward Kufuor, Eku Edewor and DJ Pierra Makena.
I couldn’t help but notice the similarity between this film’s title and When Love Happens. While writing this, I found myself writing the latter instead of the former on more than one occasion.
Come to think of it, that might be the reason for the delay in bringing When Love Comes Around to Nigeria. Its Ghanaian release was only a few months after When Love Happens premiered in Nigeria. If that’s the case, it does make sense that the producers will postpone the film’s release here. Their hope is that we’ve forgotten about the other film by now, or at least that we no longer care. With how good the film was though, I wouldn’t be banking on it.
