I don’t know what our crimes were, but if you watched Channels TV on Sunday afternoons growing up, then you probably watched Batman & Robin. I mean, those people showed it at least once every three weeks. In truth, I still haven’t forgiven them for exposing me to such a horrible movie.
Moving on; although he’s apologized about a million times for headlining the calamity that is Batman & Robin, it seems George Clooney does not believe the world has forgiven him yet. While on The Graham North Show, to promote his new movie, Tomorrowland, the actor once apologized to fans, saying he was sorry, and he thought he had killed the franchise until Christopher brought it back with the Dark Knight trilogy.
“I always apologize for Batman & Robin. Let me just say that I’d actually thought I’d actually destroyed the franchise until somebody else brought it back years later and changed it”, Clooney said. “I thought at the time that this was going to be a very good career move. Um, it wasn’t”, he added.
I’m not exactly sure George Clooney is entirely to blame for that disaster of a movie, but I’m just grateful The Dark Knight trilogy was able to revive the Batman franchise. Hopefully, with Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice around the corner, Ben Affleck won’t have to apologize also for his role. I’m still one of those that have reservations about Affleck playing Batman, but we can only wait and see how things pan out when the movie hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
Watch the video of the apology below. By the way, George Clooney is quite funny, I had me some good laughs.
