Twentieth Century Fox Announces X-Men Spinoff, The New Mutants

The New Mutants

Twentieth Century Fox has announced that it would be producing a new X-Men spinoff titled, The New Mutants, and it will be directed by Josh Boone (The Fault in our Stars).

This new movie is an adaptation of the comic book Created by Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod. It focuses on a group of teenage mutants as heroes in training. The series was home to a number of lower profile mutants in comparison to the fan favorite X-Men, such as Cannonball, Cypher, Magik, Wolfsbane, and Dani Moonstar. A number of A-list mutants also appeared in the series though such as Professor Xavier, Magneto, Kitty Pryde and Deadpool.

It is not clear yet when the film is due for release, but the studio had previously set a 2018 release date for an X-Men movie, so it’s safe to assume that this is the movie.
