poltergeist movie posterLast week was huge in cinemas. Viewers had four new different movies to choose from; Pitch Perfect, Mad Max: Fury Road, Thy will be Done and Iyore and that does not include Avengers: Age of Ultron and the likes that have been in the cinemas for a while.

If for some inexplicable reason you haven’t seen any of the above mentioned movies, it is a good idea to go see them this weekend. I know work has been crazy, so this is a good opportunity to relax and escape the harsh realities of life for a little bit.

This week, we have another three new movies you need to go and see ASAP (of course, after you’ve seen the ones from last week). Except maybe Ooops! Noah is Gone, these movies are not children friendly and you should probably keep the little ones at home when you’re going.

In no particular order, here they are:

Tomorrowland

Tomorrowland posterOne of the best things about this movie is that we get to see George Clooney again after a while off the screen.

Tomorrowland is the story of a former boy-genius (George Clooney) and a gifted teenager (Britt Robertson) set out on a dangerous mission to unearth the secrets of “Tomorrowland,” an enigmatic location caught between time and space.

The film was directed by Brad Bird, and stars George Clooney, Hugh Laurie, Britt Robertson and Raffie Cassidy.

The movie is rated PG, so you can maybe take teenagers, but leave the younger ones at home, or you can take them to see the next movie on our list. This movie is showing at all major cinemas (in Lagos), so you can catch it anywhere you feel like.

Ooops! Noah is Gone

ooops! noah is gone posterNow, this one’s for the whole family.

It’s the end of the world. A flood is coming. Luckily for Dave and his son Finny, a couple of clumsy Nestrians, an Ark has been built to save all animals. But as it turns out, Nestrians aren’t allowed. Sneaking on board with the involuntary help of Hazel and her daughter Leah, two Grymps, they think they’re safe. Until the curious kids fall off the Ark. Now Finny and Leah struggle to survive the flood and hungry predators and attempt to reach the top of a mountain, while Dave and Hazel must put aside their differences, turn the Ark around and save their kids. It’s definitely not going to be smooth sailing.

Directed by Toby Genkel and Sean McCormack, the film stars Patrick Bach, Carla Becker, Ava Connolly.

This movie is also showing at major cinemas, so you can see it wherever is closest to you.

Poltergeistpoltergeist movie posterThis one is definitely not for the kids.

Poltergeist is the story of a family whose suburban home is haunted by evil forces. When their youngest daughter is taken captive by these forces, the family must come together to rescue her, or lose her forever.

Written by Gil Kenan, the movie was directed by Gil Kenan and stars Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt, Kennedi Clements, among others.

If you’re the type that loves the Horror Genre, this is definitely one you’ll love. You can catch this one at Ozone Cinemas in Yaba, Lagos.
