Sony Announces Release Date For Bad Boys 3&4, Jumanji, Underworld 5, Others

    bad-boysSony Pictures has announced the dates for its movies to be released between now and 2019. 16 new films were officially dated.

    (Probably)Most prominent among the announcements are the third and fourth installments in the Bad Boys franchise, a Jumanji reboot and Underworld 5 which is due for release on Oct 21, 2016. The Bad Boys franchise will hit cinemas on Feb. 17, 2017 and July 3, 2019 respectively, while the new Jumanji will be released on Christmas day of 2016.

    The more important question of whether or not Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will be reprising their roles in the upcoming Bad Boys movies is yet to be answered. As of this point, neither Sony nor the actors are saying anything about their return.

    The other films that have been scheduled for release are: Jodie Foster’s Money Monster starring Julia Roberts and George Clooney (April 8); The Shallows (June 24); Paul Feig‘s Ghostbusters (July 15), zombie film Patient Zero (Sept. 2); Antoine Fuqua’s The Magnificent Seven (September 23, 2016); Passengers starring Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt (Dec. 21).

    The Dark Tower (Jan. 13 2017), Resident Evil 6 (Jan. 27, 2017), Baby Driver (March 17); Barbie (June 2); Uncharted (June 30, 2017) and The Lamb (December 8, 2017) round up the list of newly announced dates.

    These new movies join the list of already announced release dates, which includes, a new Spider-Man film (July 28, 2017); The Equalizer 2 (Sept. 29, 2017); Dan Brown’s Inferno (Oct. 14, 2016); Ang Lee’s Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk (Nov. 11, 2016); and the animated Spider-Man film (July 20, 2018).

    So whip out your calendars and mark the dates, the Bad Boys are coming back.
