Showtime Has Renewed Billions For A Second Season

BillionsWe are just two episodes into the series, and Showtime is already sure it has another hit on its hand in Billions.

The network announced the renewal through its President and CEO David Nevins yesterday.

Billions premiered two Sundays ago to a record audience of 6.5 million (a record for Showtime), and has received mainly positive reviews from both critics and viewers.

Billions is a contemporary drama series that brings together the worlds of ultra-wealth, influence and corruption as personified in two highly ambitious opposing figures: hard-charging, blue-blooded, politically connected U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Giamatti) and brilliant, calculating, blue-collar billionaire hedge fund king, Bobby “Axe” Axelrod (Lewis).

Written and created by Brian Koppelman and David Levien, the series also stars Maggie Siff, Malin Akerman, Toby Leonard Moore, David Costabile and Condola Rashad.
