Rick Famuyiwa To Direct New HBO Series, Confirmation, Starring Kerry Washington


Rick FamuyiwaNigerian American, Hollywood writer and director, Rick Famuyiwa, is set to direct a new HBO series titled, Confirmation.

Famuyiwa who has directed films like, The Wood, Talk To Me and Brown Sugar will helm the new HBO series which would begin production later in the year, and feature Scandal star, Kerry Washington.

Confirmation details the explosive 1991 Clarence Thomas-Anita Hill Supreme Court nomination hearings, which brought the US to a standstill and forever changed the way people thought about sexual harassment, victims’ rights and modern-day race relations. The series’ script is written by Susannah Grant who will double as executive producer with Kerry Washington, Michael London and Janice Williams.

Rick Famuyiwa was born to Nigerian immigrants to the US, and grew up in the southwestern Los Angeles, California suburb of Inglewood.
