Afolayan went on twitter to voice his frustration about how piracy had hit him hard and in the process accused Igbos of constituting majority of pirates in the country. The comments did not go down well with a lot of Nigerians, who felt it was unfair of the filmmaker to single out a tribe.
Reactions have since been pouring in and the latest is Igwe Gabosky, who speaking at a press conference today, Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Regent Hotel, Ikeja GRA, displayed some already reproduced copies of Kunle Afolayan’s movie, Phone Swap. Going further, he confirmed that October 1 is being targeted as well and seriously lamented the incalculable financial damages that pirating such works cause movie producers.
