HBO will keep Treme’s Michiel Huisman in-house when the actor moves from the final season of David Simon’s New Orleans series to season four of Game of Thrones. Huisman’s new role is shrouded in George R.R. Martin-esque secrecy for now, but speculation pegs him as Styr, “Magnar of Thenn, the wildling leader known for his muscular build and hairless body.” Huisman recently appeared on “Nashville” and in this summer’s “World War Z”; he was not hairless in either project.
The new season will reportedly be adapted from the second half of “A Storm of Swords,” the third book in George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” series.
Other newcomers to “GOT” this season include Joseph Gatt, Mark Gatiss (“Sherlock”), and Indira Varma (“Rome”), who will play Ellaria Sand.
HBO has yet to reveal when “Game of Thrones” will return, but it will likely be in the spring.
We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed.
