“To big breaks and the little people that make them happen.“
M.Y: Hey my good people, welcome welcome. Food and drinks won’t be available today, but there will be a lot of sweet words to quench your thirsting appetites for a good review.
Zubby: *hisses* Don’t sha piss the readers off and scare them away. And what’s with the suit you are wearing by the way?
M.Y: Well, if you must know I came suited up cause today’s review is a C.I.A secret, undercover, stealth, smooth, slick movie adaptation of the Osama Bin Laden decade long hunt and mission called Zero Dark Thirty.
Zubby: The greatest man-hunt in history if I may add.
M.Y: Yep. True that.
Zubby: Zero Dark Thirty(ZD30) is a movie written and directed by the award winning duo of Mark Boal and Kathryn Bigelow. It stars Jessica Chastain, Joel Edgerton, Chris Pratt, Kyle Chandler, Jason Sandler and the list goes on and on…….
M.Y: In my opinion, the actors are relatively unknown except for a few like Kyle Chandler and Joel Edgerton(Who starred in the 2011 movie Warrior, which if you haven’t seen, you are dulling)
Zubby: Not true M.Y, Jessica Chastain is known and loved by the many who have seen the movie The Help where she played the role of Celia Foote.
M.Y: Oh, you keep telling me to see that movie, yet I haven’t. Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal are behind the freaking awesome 2010 Oscar winning best picture The Hurt Locker. The names of their movies alone attracts you to their franchises.
Zubby: The Hurt Locker more than any thing brought Kathryn Bigelow, Mark Boal to the world stage and audience. ZD30 is basically about a CIA operative Maya (Jessica Chastain) who leads the research that led to the mission by The U.S navy S.E.A.L ( Operation Neptune Spear ) that resulted in the eventual death of Osama Bin Laden on 2nd of May 2011.
M.Y: I am sorry guys but before we go on, I must write one really important letter.
[Picks pen, dips in ink, starts writing]
Dear Mr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan,
I am not really sure what your administration is doing to get rid of the Boko Haram, but if you guys are stuck and have no freaking idea what to do, please watch this movie with the State Secret Service Executives and operatives to learn a thing or two about intelligence gathering, war on terror and stealth.
Awojide Olumuyiwa Sylvester.

Zubby: Kiki, Terdoh and I are in no way connected with the letter above or affiliated with its writer. *In case SSS wan come nab you @ M.Y.*
Zubby: Multiple award winning writer Mark Boal must have had a whole lot of connections and strings pulled to have pulled off this controversial movie. I mean a freaking Lamborghini for striking a deal? That was freaking awesome!
M.Y: I swear, at that moment I wished I was the one handing out some Intel. The amount of research was amazing. The sensitive subjects which were touched even made it more controversial. Area 51, The water boarding torture and other forms of torture depicted in the movie showed the cruel nature of the CIA in its interrogative methods.
Zubby: But do you think they will have gotten results without those methods? I am sure the torture program isn’t shut down anyways *just saying* . The script for this movie was being developed for an earlier operation carried out in 2011 which was the failed attempt at catching Osama when he was believed to be in the Afghanistan mountains
M.Y: Just right when the script was almost finished, the Operation Neptune Spear was carried out which resulted in the death of Osama. They immediately changed the story and basically rewrote the story into what ZD30 was.
M.Y: The directing style in this movie was basically very similar to The Hurt Locker, except for the fact that this movie has a bit more action in it. A typical drama with a really slow and boring start that had me dropping the movie twice before finally seeing it and it pretty much picked up twenty minutes into the movie. But this had more explosions and is thus better than Hurt Locker for that reason TO ME.
Zubby: Kathryn suprises and amazes me at the same time. A female director who always gets it spot on when it comes to making war time movies. No wonder in 2009 she became the first woman to win the Academy Award for Best Director.
M.Y: The actors as always in a good movie were really slick. But Jessica Chastain was top notch
Zubby: Totally worth the Golden Globe she won and the Oscar she was nominated for. She far exceeded my expectations here. Loved it !!!
M.Y: Everyone else was pretty much good, but not exceptional to me. The dialogue was really good. I had fun listening to their words.
Justin – DEVGRU: So Patrick, be honest with me. You really believe this story? I mean [turns to Maya] No offense, no offense, I don’t. [laughs and turns away] But… Osama bin Laden?
Patrick – Squadron Team Leader: Yeah.
Justin – DEVGRU: What part convinced you?
Patrick – Squadron Team Leader: [turns to Maya throwing his hands at her] Her confidence.
Justin – DEVGRU: That’s the kind of concrete data point I’m looking for. I’ll tell you buddy, if her confidence is the one thing that’s keeping me from getting ass-raped in a Pakistani prison I’m gonna be honest with you, bro. I’m cool with it.
Zubby: See what I’m talking about? Awesome lines right there. *grins*
M.Y: Okay okay you all know already. It’s a Popcorn and Soda.
Zubby: Seriously, I am tired of every movie we review being good. I hunger for a movie that gets traffic popcorn. I seriously Do!
M.Y: *laughs* I sense one coming soon bro, I really do. If you (our dear readers) have suggestions as to what movies you will like to see us review, please drop your comments. Cheers.
