Director, George Miller, recently revealed that sequel would most likely be titled Mad Max: TheWasteland. He also confirmed that they already had a script for the sequel, and as soon as Warner Bros. officially gave the go-ahead, production would begin.
“We’ve got one screenplay and a novella,It happened because with the delays [on ‘Fury Road’], and writing all the backstories, they just expanded,” Miller said.
This direction seems contradictory to a title he proposed earlier in 2010. He had said the sequel would most likely be titled Mad Max: Furiosa, and would focus mainly on the story of Charlize Theron’s bad ass character, Furiosa.
The film’s new direction however, is one that may or may not include Furiosa. While it was already confirmed that Tom Hardy had signed on for three more sequels, Theron’s future, on the other hand, has not been so clear.
