Apparently, we don’t have to wait as long as previously thought for the next installment in the Kung Fu Panda franchise.
Dreamworks Animations have announced that Kung Fu Panda 3, which was formerly due for release on March 18, 2016, has been moved up to January 29, 2016.
The animated feature film continues the legendary adventures of Po. The Panda Po reunites with his biological father and returns to his birthplace, where he does not fit in. There he meets Mei Mei, an overly eager panda, who has been promised in an arranged marriage to Po. But his return is threatened by an evil spirit called The Collector, who steals powers of defeated kung fu masters.
Kung Fu Panda 3 stars Jack Black, Gary Oldman, Dustin Hoffman, David Cross, Angelina Jolie, Michelle Yeoh, Mads Mikkelsen, Danny McBride, Lucy Liu, Seth Rogen, Jackie Chan, James Hong, and Bryan Cranston.
Jennifer Yuh Nelson directed it, with Alessandro Carloni serving as co-director. The film is written by Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger.
