Furious 7 will probably be the biggest film of 2015 (assuming Jurassic World eventually slows down) and is currently in the top five highest grossing movies of all time. This is why it comes as no surprise that Universal is already planning the eighth and ninth installments in the franchise.
If you’ve seen Furious 7 (really, who hasn’t?), then you’ll know the end was set up shows “Mr Nobody” (Kurt Russel) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) are in the film’s future, and Statham recently confirmed this to Access Hollywood.
Speaking in an interview, Statham said he was delighted he was going to have the opportunity to return for Fast and Furious 8. “We’re already talking about doing another one, Part 8. I’m a newcomer, I just got invited to the party in this last one, so it’s nice to know I’m going to be doing another”, he said.
The usual suspects, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and co are expected to also return, with Eva Mendes being rumored to be in talks to return to the franchise.
Very little is known about the plot for Fast and Furious 8 at this moment, except that it will be set in New York and will serve as the second chapter in a trilogy plotline that was set in motion in Furious 7.
