Though a movie might have been named after him (sort of), but David Beckham will not be making his full film debut as an actor until his appearance in Guy Ritchie’s upcoming film, Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur.

According to reports, the former England and Real Madrid footballer signed on to star in the film, which will see him be in a version of the scene where Excalibur gets drawn from the stone. Exactly how he fits in is still unknown. Filmdivider is also reporting that football puns have been inserted into Beckham’s scene.

“There’s a little bit of a sense that Beckham’s character, who fancies himself as a big player in this story, gets a little ticked off when this other fellow, this upstart, is the one who can free the sword”.

It would be interesting to see how the film turns out, and we can know if David Beckham can kiss his acting career goodbye. The good news though is that we get to have a feel of Beckham’s acting skills when he makes a cameo appearance in soon-to-be released, The Man from U.N.C.L.E which is due to hit cinemas on August 14, 2015.
