Images are emerging that seem to be from an African market sequence in the upcoming film. The pictures show Captain America, Falcon, and Black Widow in an “African market” and there is even a shot of Captain America engaging in combat with the film’s villain, Crossbones.
The only reason we can think of why the new breed of Avengers will be in Africa is if for some reason, they are going to Wakanda (Black Panther’s home). Any other explanation just doesn’t cut it. With Black Panther having been confirmed to make an appearance in the film, this becomes even more likely.
As fans of Marvel comics probably know however, Wakanda is not the typical African city, and would definitely look nothing like that. The city is supposed to be some highly developed one hidden away in the jungles of Africa. The pictures from the set however, show a city more like Lagos, especially with the yellow buses and all.
How Marvel is planning to explain this is still beyond us, but we’ll certainly find out when the movie hits theaters in May 2016.
Captain America: Civil War is directed by brothers, Anthony and Joe Russo, and will star Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Don Cheadle as Jim Rhodes/War Machine and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch.
