An Entirely New Take On The Jesus Story: Watch The Trailer For Upcoming Risen

Risen I’ve seen and heard of quite a few story about the life and times of Jesus, and while some of them have been really good (Passion of the Christ), the same cannot be said for quite a few of them (Son Of God).

I would probably just have scrolled past this story, but what caught my attention was the fact that the story was shown from the perspective of a non-believer. This is not something I’ve seen a lot of.

Risen is the story of Clavius, a powerful Roman Military Tribune, and his aide Lucius, who are assigned with the duty of solving the mystery of what happened to Jesus in the weeks following the crucifixion.

Directed by Kevin Reynolds, the movie was produced by Patrick Aiello, Mickey Liddell and Pete Shilaimon. It stars Joseph Fiennes, Tom Felton, Peter Firth and Cliff Curtis.

Whether or not the film is blasphemous, we’ll find out when it hits theaters from January 22, 2016.

Truth is, I’ve been seeing movies (and animations) about the death of Jesus since I was a kid, and it would take something special to make me very interested in another one. Risen has just that. A story to look forward to.
